Trip highlights: This is an exciting 9 days lake Naivasha, lake Nakuru, Cherengani hills, Saiwa swamp ,Kakamega forest, Kisumu, Kisii and Masai Mara private lodge safari into the best wildlife sanctuaries in Kenya. This trip will start upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, taking you through to Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru National park and the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, scene of the greatest spectacle of the animal kingdom and the annual migration of thousands of wildebeest. You will be able to see plenty of wildlife varying from Kenya's big five; the lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and the leopard amongst a host of other different animal species. You will travel in a private minivan Safari vehicle and stay in the best lodge while on this safari on full board basis.


Detailed Itinerary:


Day 1: Nairobi - L.Naivasha - L.Nakuru

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Tour Manager, who will brief you on your Safari and escort you to your vehicle for departure to Lake Naivasha National Park for a memorable game viewing drive and bird watching experience. Then visit the Hell’s Gate Park, one of the few parks where you can walk or cycle to see the wild animals. There is a Geothermal power station and very beautiful scenery, You will arrive in good time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy your game viewing drive till dust, then after return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in Kenya, outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County, which lies North West of Nairobi. It is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name derives from the local Maasai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms which can arise.

Day 2: L.Naivasha - L.Nakuru

Early in the morning after breakfast, the Driver will take you to Lake Nakuru for game viewing and a sight of millions of flamingos among other birds This is also home to the black and the white rhinoceros.

At Lake Nakuru we will see the spectacular gathering of lesser Flamingoes in their hundreds of thousand together with an abundance of other water birds like the Western Reef Heron, Lesser Jacana, and black-headed Gull. We will also look for Acacia forest species, including Green-wood Hoopoe, Hildebrandt's and Coqui Francolins, Rufous-naped and Fawn-colored Larks, scarce Grey-crowned Helmet-shrike, Arrow-marked Babbler, Bearded Woodpecker, Mottled swift and White-shouldered Cliff Chat. On the baboon cliff that overlooks this Great Rift Valley lake are fox Kestrels and other species of falcons .

Day 3: L. Nakuru - Cherengani Hill

Early in the Morning after Breakfast you will Leave Nakuru for a drive north to Cherengani Hills via Marigat, visit the pre-historic sites in Marigat and then continue to cherangani hill.

Marigat is a settlement in Kenya's Rift Valley Province. Marigat is a fast growing town located in the lowlands of Baringo district. Its growth is supported by the Perkerra irrigation scheme where onions, pepper, papaws and maize, among other crops, are grown. Marigat town is about 20 km from both the famous L. Baringo and L. Bogoria; this exposes the town to new ideology through interaction between visitors and the locals. Marketing of local products such as honey (kumyante), goat's meat (beny), and cultural artifacts is made effective by the surging local and foreign tourists and travellers. Tourists go for art such as braided callabush, the ilchamus club, ilchamus sheets and the tugen bow and arrows. Passengers buy onions, tomatoes, honey, water, melon, bananas, oranges from the Parkerra irrigation scheme as they wait for the bus at the Matatu stage to surprise their families.

Day 4: Cherengani Hill-Saiwa Swamp

Early in the Morning after breakfast our driver will pick you up from your lodge to Cherangani in the morning after breakfast to Saiwa Swamps via Kitale, overnight Saiwa Swamps campsite or budget hotel with all meals served here. (Here you have a chance of seeing the water antelope- Sitatunga).

Cherangani Hills, gently rolling slopes in the western highlands of Kenya, are one of Kenya's five main forests. The highlands, the large central plateau, is divided by the Mau Escarpment rising from the border with Tanzania up to the Cherangani Hills, fencing the plateau that rises to the slopes of Mount Elgon. The Cherangany Hills in Trans Nzoia county of Kenya reach elevations of 3500 m above sea level. They include Kameleogon (3581 m), Chebon (3375 m), Chepkotet (3370 m), Alaleigelat (3350 m) and Sodang (3211 m). They are home to a marginalized hunter-gatherer community called the Sengwer.

Day 5: Saiwa Swamp-Kakamega forest

After breakfast leave Saiwa Swamp to Kakamega forest via Webuye. Full day in the Kakamega National Reserve with bird walks accompanied by game wardens and our driver/guides.

In this Western part of Kenya, the remnant Congolese rainforest has species which are found nowhere else in Kenya. This includes Blue-headed Bee-eater, African Broadbill Toro Olive, and Shelley's Greenbuls, Grey-throated Barbet, Chapin's flycatcher, Black-faced Rofous Warbler, Veillot's Black Weaver, Uganda Woodland Warbler Mackinnon's Fiscal, Chubb's Cisticola, Brown-throated Wattle-eye among others. We will venture further afield outside the forest for some more western specialties like Rock Pratincole, White-chinned Prinia, Marsh Widowbird, Black Bishop, Red-headed Lovebird, Green Crombec, Red-chested Sunbird, Purple Starling, Locust Finch, Zebra Waxbill, Brown Twinspot Bar-breasted Firefinch and be on the lookout for rare Speckled-breasted Woodpecker and Bedouin Snake-eagle.

Day 6: Kakamenga Forest-Kisumu-Kisii.

Early in the Moorning you will Leave Kakamega after breakfast via Kit-Mikayi, a legendary stone of the area with historical background, proceed on to Kisii village with lunch enroute (for Soapstones)

Kisii County is a county in the former Nyanza Province in southwestern Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Kisii. The county is inhabited mostly by the Gusii people.dinner overnight in Kisii town.

Day 7: Kisii-Maasai Mara

After breakfast leave Kisii for Maasai Mara via Kilgoris to arrive for lunch at the Enchoro Wildlife Camp, and then proceed for an afternoon game drive to see the many animals that inhabit this unique game-park

Day 8: Maasai Mara

After morning breakfast, you will check out to depart to Maasai Mara Game Reserve via Narok arriving in time for check in at Mara Simba lodge and lunch. In afternoon, you will proceed for Game drive till dust. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

The Maasai Mara, now The New 7th wonder of the world and 4th preferred tourist destination in the world is a home to wildlife in such abundance and variety that it is difficult to imagine. The most spectacular event of the natural world takes place here; The annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture while being followed on their heels by the predators of the savanna; lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vulture. It hosts over 450 species of animals which include lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants.

Day 9: Maasai Mara-Nairobi

A pre-breakfast morning game drives within Maasai Mara Reserve for a chance to spot more wildlife species.  After morning breakfast depart to Nairobi, upon arrival you will be taken for farewell lunch at carnivore restaurant before being transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to board your international flight to your next destination.
