In the evening relax in the accommodation found in the area before proceeding into Bwindi Forest early the following day.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest contains a large primeval forest which is also known as "the place of darkness'. It is one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth where half the world's population of mountain gorillas lives in its expansive jungle. The word impenetrable is
significant in that the forest is made up of tangled plant life draped over a deep fissured landscape of steep slippery valleys.

Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Camp/ Lodge or similar

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, precede to Bwindi Impenetrable forest the home of mountain gorillas and spend the whole day enjoying a tracking experience. Drive through the magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley, which is an ancient rainforest and one of the few in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age and home to half of
the world's mountain gorillas. The average time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is unpredictable for it may take 1 - 10 hours. You will have lunch en route and return to your camp in the evening.

Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is surely the most thrilling and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer but we should not let it distract us from Bwindi's broader biodiversity, a result of its immense antiquity and an altitude span from
1,160 to 2,607m. The national park has 90 mammal species, including 11 primates, of which the black-and-white colobus, with its lovely flowing white tail is prominent. The forest birding ranks with the best in Uganda, with 23 highly localized Albertine Rift endemics present.
